Judson and his then-husband fostered three children which they then adopted. When he husband left Judson is left a single parent who is doing his best to cope. When he takes his daughter to get fancy braids for her first day of kindergarten he didn't intend to make a friend with the hot hairstylist Austin but he seems to be there whenever he has a crisis including watching the kids so he can help set up a childcare care centre at Takoda Outreach Center. He keeps telling himself that he is not interested in something more but is that really true?
I loved this story with the single parent who is trying his best to do everything for his family but needs to try and take some time for himself too and the determined Austin who is prepared to wait while he does everything he can to help and support Judson while he gets to know and trust him. I loved the botched school science experiment and the way that Austin was the one who was called for help - he must have walked into a warzone. Their relationship was just sweet and I loved the way that the others at the Center supported them in getting some time together. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.
