Ari had opened a soup kitchen with his two best friends in his late Mum's honour and that had become the Takoda Outreach Center with the aim to give everyone food. Zachery has hunted eyes and an air of unhappiness but is a great help there and when he needs a fake date for a family party Ari agrees as all he wants is to make him smile. Ari hopes to convince the stubborn Zachary to open his heart and start living again before he drowns in his sorrow.
I loved this story with a fake date to friends to lovers story all immersed into the story of the outreach centre, the people who are there as both staff, volunteers and guests. I loved the quirky old folks who were just so feisty and caring all at the time which meant it was really hard to say no to them. The passion and love between Ari and Zachary were powerful and it was wonderful to see how it enabled him to be so supportive of him. There are some very emotional sections to this story and you will cry. Easy to read, feel, empathise with and understand. Contains mature MM content.
