Review: Slow Motion by BJ Cox 2 of 5 stars

Slow Motion (Pet Play by the Lake)

Slow Motion by BJ Cox
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Dale had left everything behind and started over as a masseur at the Mountain Lake Resort but is happy. When he meets and attractive younger man at his kink club there might be a chance at romance. Troy is a lawyer who works hard and wants to use Pet Play by the Lake for Dale to explore his inner animal and for himself to see what it takes to care for an older boy who is a switch. Dale struggles as a Sloth who is older and an outsider. When the strain of trying too hard and doubting himself means that not even their favourite punishments are enough to keep Dale with him, can the two of them dig deeper to find the kind of connection they’ve both been craving all along?

I normally enjoy these stories and the premise looked good but I did find some of the aspects of the story a little hard to understand. The abrupt ending was strange and I have no idea how their dynamic and relationship is really going to work for them going forward. I did enjoy the drama and misunderstandings in the story although I did wonder if Troy might have made Dale feel more secure if he did some things slightly differently. Easy to read and feel. This is a MM story with a BSDM-like DDLB D/s relationship with pet play.
