Trey Coben has blond hair, blue eyes and a winning smile - the perfect All-American boy. He was raised to follow the rules and present a perfect public image - however, everything you see on display is a lie and is nothing like the real man. When ominous threatening letters start to arrive his right-wing Senator father hires Roman Barnes to protect him determined that nothing is going to derail his bed for re-election not even when his son's life is threatened. As the chemistry between Trey and his sexy bodyguard begins to ignite, Trey is faced with a choice: He can pretend to be the son his father wants, or he can take a chance at love. With their hearts and their lives on the line, will their love survive, or will it all go up in flames?
I loved this story with the tortured son who was not what he was having to present to the public, Roman who did everything he could to be professional but in the end, could not ignore the chemistry that was building between them both and the evil who was stalking Trey to reveal his secrets before he was ready. There were definitely moments of drama and danger, especially at the explosive ending of the story. I loved some of the side characters like the housekeeper at the Senator's house and Trey's best friend. Roman's family were wonderful and I think we would all like them to adopt us as part of them so we could all go there for "Linner". Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.
