Review: A Little Bit Broken by Michele Notaro 4 of 5 stars

A Little Bit Broken (Finding My Forever, #2)

A Little Bit Broken by Michele Notaro
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Harley has been alone in the world for a long time and so whenever new friends enter his life he prepares himself for when they leave again. However, it does mean he is very lonely. Needing more help at the coffee shop he needs to find someone he can trust. With just three applicants (one is an ex-con) it doesn't look good. As the most suitable he takes a chance on ex-con Theo who soon becomes a friend. When trouble from Harley's past returns and he gets some unexpected help will he let it hold him back from the friendship and love on offer?

I enjoyed this book with the tortured Harley, the unfortunate Theo who made a bad choice when he was younger and paid a price for it, and the vindictive ex-Rick who really needed to be taught a lesson. Theo just needed a massive hug as he did what he could for Harley and Harley needed care and comfort while also having a gentle shake to think a bit clearer. I loved the family that had adopted them both and wonder if there are any vacancies that I could fill. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

** Please note that this book includes descriptions of some domestic violence and it that is a trigger for you please skip reading this one.

Review: Chance Match by Wendy Rathbone 3 of 5 stars

Chance Match

Chance Match by Wendy Rathbone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Omega Kace has heats which are difficult and painful and his last alpha boyfriend hurt him by trying to breed him when he wasn't willing to be and so he left him. His doctor says it is a condition called Heat Repulsion and recommends that he use the Perfect Match Agency to find his mate and be cured. When Kace goes on a blind date with his perfect match it's not the alpha taking him out to dinner that interests him but the man's sulky assistant Storm. Storm has a secret - a childhood betrayal means that he dislikes omegas as superficial, untrustworthy and silly. He has never been with an omega in heat and never knotted one. The two men cause off-schedule pre-heat and pre-rut symptoms - can they both move past their insecurities to find their happiness?

I enjoyed this story however the writing at times was a little wooden and I felt it could have been more descriptive. I did like the way that Storm eventually came around and that there was no way he could not do all of the sexual contact required between them both for their heat and rut. I was pleased that they got the HEA in the end. This was an MM story with an omegaverse situation between an omega and an alpha with mature content.

Review: Cautious Match by Roe Horvat 3 of 5 stars

Cautious Match (Perfect Match Agency #1)

Cautious Match by Roe Horvat
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Omega Jori doesn't want to be single forever and so his meddling brother registered him with the Perfect Match agency which takes personality tests and pheromone samples in order to find his perfect match. They now claim to have found his mate and the percentages are so high that if they are careless around each other he might trigger the alpha to rut. The one bad thing is that the agency won't tell him anything about his match. Avery had always been attracted to the wrong men and so he decides it is a great idea to let an agency choose a mate for him. The man in question is an accountant who finds Avery's wealth uncomfortable. Trying to keep his distance to get his trust first their bodies take over and make the decision for him first.

This was a pleasant book in the omegaverse where no shifters are involved but there is a strong alpha and a smaller omega. I enjoyed this story until it became a little silly with a load of unanswered questions for me. I did enjoy the attempt to give some distance after the initial desperate encounter to make sure that everything was right although it seemed a pointless exercise after all they had gone through. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with a lot of mature content.

Review: An Atypical Love by Shaw Montgomery 5 of 5 stars

An Atypical Love

An Atypical Love by Shaw Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rohan is an asexual Dom and as he has never found his Mr Right so he finally lets Connor the part-owner of Bound & Controlled set him up. Dayton knows he shouldn't trust Connor when he has that look on his face but when the wicked sub promises him his Mr Right common sense flies right out of the window. In the past most Doms at the club are too scared about hurting him to let him submit after a childhood illness gave him massive skin sensitivity so he is crossing his finger that finally love and domination are finally in his future. Sometimes finding Mr. Right is easy and sometimes he’s wrapped in an unconventional package…but love will always find a way.

I loved these two men. Rohan was suitably detail-driven and knowledgeable that he was able to scene with Dayton safely and his asexuality actually was an advantage in this instance. Dayton was just adorable with this inability to think or speak when Rohan was toying with him and how frequently that happened. I loved that Rohan has focussed on Dayton's comfort, pleasure and safety and the ends to which he was prepared to go to. I felt so invested in these two that I just wanted to have a hug with them. Easy to read, feel and understand it was easy to just carry on and not put this book down - after all sleep can be caught up with. This is an MM book with BDSM-like D/s behaviours and some sexual content.

Review: Daddy's Dragon by Joe Satoria 4 of 5 stars

Daddy's Dragon

Daddy's Dragon by Joe Satoria
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Harvey is a dragon but nothing in his life is going to plan - his bakery dreams are not happening and now his dragon play wings are damaged. Pride is just around the corner and he doesn't want all these happy people to throw it in his face. Then he meets Mitchell who helps him to relax and play but will it last? Mitchell has looked for love everywhere and is scared he will never find it. When he meets sassy Harvey with his dragon play sparks a fire in him. Anything can happen at Shaftdale Pride… like fanning a flame into a burning HEA.

I enjoyed this story with the sassy Harvey and the determined Mitchell and how well they worked together as a couple. I loved the way that Mitchell was determined to help Harvey with his dreams and that he was enjoying the dragon play too. A lot was unsaid between them although it could be interpreted from what was inferred - I think much of that was due to Harvey's sassy nature. Easy to read, feel and understand. It was a very enjoyable read. This was an MM story with some mature content and BSDM-like DDLB behaviours with dragon play.

Review: Secrets Not To Be Kept: An M/M Bodyguard Romance by A.W. Scott 5 of 5 stars

Secrets Not To Be Kept: An M/M Bodyguard Romance (NightShade Security Book 3)

Secrets Not To Be Kept: An M/M Bodyguard Romance by A.W. Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nightshade Security computer genius Memphis got a cup of coffee and found himself captivated by the man across the counter and so he observed him from a distance to figure him out, but someone else had been doing the same thing and they thought he was theirs. But Memphis was not going to give up without a fight as Sinclair was his and he intended to keep him. Sinclair's life was good compared to how it was before as he had his job, and some friends. Then his past ripped through his life again and made him into a villain to those he cared for.

I really enjoyed this story with the story of Memphis and Sinclair. It was great to have more involvement from another member of the powerful criminal organisation. I also loved the relationship that developed between the two men and how Memphis was able to sleep when he was with Sinclair. The twists and turns in the story were quite devious and I loved that the team were able to somehow help Memphis to hold on when he was about to lose it. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Romancing My Submissive by Izaia Winter 3 of 5 stars

Romancing My Submissive (Different Hearts, #8)

Romancing My Submissive by Izaia Winter
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

These are two stories that are connected to the series. Teasing Max is like #6.5 in the series and Spoiling Cindy is like #2.5.

Teasing Max - 4*

Maxwell Russo is ready to try again with a BDSM relationship but his workplace crush is with Harrison Sheffield and he knows that he could easily go for one with him. Harrison just wants an in so that he can get closer to Max and start the kind of relationship that he desperately wants. Thankfully they are put on the rebranding of a failing cosmetics company and that is all he needs.

I enjoyed this story and the way that Harrison was able to take charge and give Max everything that the needed, This was a sweet story that made me smile. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was a MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like D/s relationship.

Spoiling Cindy - 2*

Cindy (Cynthia Campbell) is looking for a Daddy and her friend Red thinks he has just the man for her. She has custody of her younger sister and so has little time to find her perfect Daddy but all the casual playdates and play partners have been unfulfilling. Dave Kelly is an EMT and the partner of Red's Daddy Nate. He is looking for a special little girl to care for and having struck out at the local BDSM club he hopes he might find the right person at Red's party.

I found this difficult going for some reason - I just didn't connect with Cindy. I found her caution around her sister and her timidness not very endearing. I did however like Dave who was a nice guy. Easy to read and understand. This was an MF book with a little mature content and a BDSM-like DDLG relationship

Review: Kade by Tasha Black 3 of 5 stars

Kade (Alien Adoptions Agentur #2)

Kade by Tasha Black
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Aurora Day known as the Fox is running from a crime that she didn't commit and there is a bounty on her head. Hiding on the frontier moon Clotho she has to adopt an alien baby and is shocked when she learns that a dragon warrior of the Invicta is part of the package. Kade knows two things about Aurora - she is going to be the mother of the child he is pledged to guard and has grown to love and the mysterious woman is his mate. She is also clearly hiding some secrets and he is determined to find them. When Kade gets in trouble with the local law enforcement only Aurora can save him and her perfect life is about to come crashing down.

This was a pleasant story with the strong warrior, the mate with secrets and at the centre of it all a child. I liked the friendly neighbours with their own secrets and the competition and just how crazy Aurora was. Easy to read, feel and understand.

Review: Hanging With Daddy by J.P. Sayle 4 of 5 stars

Hanging With Daddy

Hanging With Daddy by J.P. Sayle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Austin owns a thriving security business and when one of his men cannot make an event he steps in and is charmed by the tiny man dressed as a koala doing an aerial display on a pole. Gaines loves all thing koala and incorporated pet play into select events where he performs. At one event he sees his perfect Daddy and with some of his encouragement from best friend Matty, he takes the initiative for the first time in his life as Austin is everything that he ever wished for. When the little koala asks him to be his handler for Pride Fest it is an easy yes, but the last thing he expects is for Gaines to use him as a pole.

I enjoyed this story with the intervention from friends to make sure that they met, their instant attraction and the way that they were able to express their needs and communicate with each other. Gaines was so talented as a performer that it was really clever to climb his Daddy in order to include him in his performance. It was great to see him find a solution to help him to stop working so much so that he could be well and spend time with his Daddy. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB relationship with pet play.

Review: Waiting for Derek by Izaia Winter 4 of 5 stars

Waiting for Derek (Different Hearts, #7)

Waiting for Derek by Izaia Winter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Derek Astor is a photographer and when Foster Hayes walks into his studio asking him to photograph the local BDSM club for him (and possibly the members too) he knows his life is going to get interesting - after all, he knows nothing about BDSM. Having seen the photo of one of the dungeon monitors on their existing website he knows that the tall, dark, handsome and tattooed strange is everything that he could want in a lover. Kane Mercer doesn't mind sharing everything with his brother Kyle even a lover. He knows he will have no problem persuading him that Darek is perfect for them but persuading Derek is going to be much harder, especially as it seems obvious that he would be an excellent kitten.

I enjoyed this story with the discovery of BDSM by Derek, the relationship between everyone and Derek's grandmother, and the way that they all took care of each other. I loved the way that they did what they could to support each other and that meant that Derek could be more serious in portrait photography. It was sweet when he got excited about how wonderful it would be to photograph someone as opposed to talking to them and getting to know them.
Please note that Kyle and Kane may share a sexual partner but they never engage in anything sexual with each other. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MMM story with mature content and BDSM D/s dynamics and kitten play.

Born to Stand Out: Pride Pet Play

Born to Stand Out: Pride Pet Play by Kelex
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Matt had a traumatic confrontation in the past and so he finds it hard to open up and express his wants and needs even though his relationship with Daddy Jack seems to be solid. His trauma from being judged as a feminine gay man has meant that he held back from expressing himself through his pet plays as a Unicorn. Matt keeps asking Jack to open up but hits a brick wall. Can he use the Pride events to get him to open up and complete the missing parts of their relationship or will Matt run?

I enjoyed this story but I did struggle a little with the writing and found it hard work at times (I'm really not sure why as I was invested in their relationship and finding the missing information). I enjoyed the characters and the world that they lived in which was very colourful. Contains an MM relationship with mature content and BDSM-like DDLB dynamic and pet play.

Review: Playing With Spencer by Izaia Winter 4 of 5 stars

Playing With Spencer (Different Hearts, #6)

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dominant Spencer Howell knows to steer clear of littles after getting burned in the past so he will stay the fun Uncle who makes yummy cakes and cookies. Turner Keene is a little looking for his perfect Daddy but so far has only played at home with his best friend. When the local BSDM club want him to be their toy supplier he is thrust into a world he never knew existed. After a chance meeting, Spencer meets Turner and all Spencer sees is a cute, sweet and naturally submissive boy, and all Turner sees is a handsome and funny guy who likes to bake. He can't possibly know about littles and Daddies When Spencer finds out about Turner’s little side, will he overcome his fears and stay? When problems from Spencer's past come back to haunt him, will Turner stand by his side and defend him?

I really enjoyed this story with their chance meeting, the clear communication on limits and preferences, the revelations and the mystery around the past rumours and their source, I loved the way that they both became very protective of each other and Turner was just fearless. Easy to read, feel and understand I felt like celebrating with them when it was all over. This is an MM story with mature content in a BSDM-like DDLB relationship with consensual non-consent roleplay, spanking and some very light ABDL.

Review: The Ranch Hand and the Single Dad by Jackie North 4 of 5 stars

The Ranch Hand and the Single Dad (Farthingdale Ranch #3)

The Ranch Hand and the Single Dad by Jackie North
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ranch hand Clay keeps busy with hookups at the local bar but while they used to be fun they just leave him empty. Austin is reeling after a difficult divorce where his wife took everything including his nine-year-old daughter Bea. Austin has no idea where his life is headed but is the new accountant at Farthingdale Ranch. He is distracted by Clay who is gay even though Autin is straight, so maybe he can be parked in the friend zone.

I loved this story with the gay cowboy falling for the straight man who has feelings that are not so straight after all. I loved how considerate Clay was of Bea and that he was quick to offer help and support whatever the problem was. This was a beautiful story of friendship and love. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Teaching Foster's Cowboy by Izaia Winter 3 of 5 stars

Teaching Foster's Cowboy (Different Hearts, #5)

Teaching Foster's Cowboy by Izaia Winter
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Foster is part owner of a BDSM club but can't stay away from the bartender next door, so he limits himself to one drink, three times a week for just 30 minutes. He just loves watching Elias blushing and the same need for Foster reflected in his gaze. Elias is an inexperienced submissive and is fascinated by the man who comes into his bar. Then a coworker comes into the bar and drags Foster away and Elias decides to follow. As Elias lets his curiosity overtake him, he finds himself Foster’s partner, and suddenly, the man who never makes a move is making them all.

I enjoyed this story although I did find the description of Foster as a sadist to be a bit false as he was certainly dominant but not sadistic. Elias was a little masochistic but not very so it was all a bit tame. I did like the concept of the barman finding out about the club next door and the introduction to everything. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and is a BDSM-like D/s story with praise kink, bondage, E-Stim, sounding, and exhibitionism.

Painted Love: A Pride Pet Play Novel by Layla Dorine
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Cas is an earnest and honest ferret and made his own suit via a patchwork of different coloured fur to make it more accurate. He just wants the chance to prove that he can be a good pet. Mouse is a kitty with an amazing Daddy. They have been looking for a third to join them in playtime maybe forever if everything fits. The more time they spend together, the more they bond. But will an arsonist bring all their plans crashing down around them before they ever have the chance to see them realized?

I loved this story and the way that they all bonded was magical, but the fire and what could have happened was just scary. I loved the way that Mouse fell for Cas first it wasn't long for the others. The fire was dramatic and the way that Cas saved himself and Mouse was outstanding. Their Daddy's response was sheer terror and I can totally understand his reaction and the way that they comforted each other. Easy to read, feel and understand. Healing Carson's Little (Different Hearts, #4)

Healing Carson's Little by Izaia Winter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Miller Doran ran from his past and knew thanks to the abuse he received that he never wants to be another Daddy's little ever again. He lives in a tiny apartment with this cat and has a steady job at a coffee shop and is happy. Daddy Dom Carson Watts has very specific needs around lace and pink dresses and so does not have a special little one to love and care for. Miller accepts his best friend’s invitation to join his Saturday night D&D group and Carson runs it. All is well until one of the players says the word Daddy he has a meltdown. Miller must decide once and for all if the little lifestyle is right for him.

I enjoyed this story with the little one who is trying not to be little anymore after abuse and the caring Daddy who just wants to care for and love him. I enjoyed the way that he went slowly and carefully in order to support Miller and that he was very clear on consent and the fact that it was Miller's decision and that he would always honour it. I loved the way that Miller was supported when speaking to and visiting his estranged family. Easy to read and understand, feelings were especially easy to feel in this story. Serving Mr. Chamberlain (Different Hearts, #3)

Serving Mr. Chamberlain by Izaia Winter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Quentin Davis has a crush on his new boss Mr. Chamberlain however he is straight and so he would never stand a chance. Nolan Chamberlain finds his new secretary too tempting but as he is into BDSM he decides to leave his vanilla secretary alone. However, when Nolan goes out with friends to the local BDSM club he sees Quentin in nothing but a few scraps of lace, combat boots and gold highlighter serving a crowded room - not because he works there but because he likes it. Suddenly Quentin appears to not be so off limits as he did before.

I enjoyed this story with the two people finding each other with the help of their employment and a coincidental meeting. I loved the way that Quentin handled the pushy female employee. Their relationship was so sweet and full of passion that it was delightful to read. I was thrilled when they were able to be with each other and that they found ways to feed their kinks within a stable relationship. Easy to read, feel and understand. The Blacksmith and the Ex-Con (Farthingdale Ranch, #2)

The Blacksmith and the Ex-Con by Jackie North
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Jasper is the blacksmith on the Farthingdale Ranch in Wyoming and the last thing he wanted was to have his life interrupted by an ex-con but the ranch needs the tax benefits the programme will bring. Ellis is traumatised by his time in prison and can barely speak. He is about to be offered parole and knows he will hate working on the guest ranch but has no other option. It’s not love at first sight. It’s not hate at first sight, either, but something in between.

I enjoyed this story of the care that Jasper took over Ellis when he arrived and the empathy that he showed him. Ellis had definitely made some wrong decisions in his life and it was quite sad to see the sorts of things he had to cope with when he was incarcerated. I enjoyed the parallel between a little sucking something like a binkie or his Daddy with the actions of Ellis. I also liked the slow way that their intimacy developed. Easy to read, feel and understand I was thrilled when it ended with them in their own HEA. This is an MM story with some mature content.

A Kitten For Daddy: Pride Pet Play by Wendy Rathbone

Kolly's name is a good one for a puppy but he is actually a cat who never comes when called, loves scratches and is super flexible thanks to early-age gymnastics. He wants a person who is not a hookup but instead, one who treats him well and lets him live in his role. His secret is that he's never had satisfaction during sex. Boston has been a Daddy since he was in his twenties but needs to be seen as far more than a sugar daddy which is what he has had so far. He needs a relationship with total trust and honesty but is convinced he will never meet the right one. Can a forlorn, shy, cute and lonely kitten longing for a master and daddy find just the right owner for his needs?

I enjoyed this story with the shy but cute Kolly and the lonely and frustrated Boston who both had their own problems but were perfect for each other. Fixing Little Red by Izaia Winter

Red never thought that assembling a playscape with his best friend would lead to him having a broken arm, and ride to the hospital in an ambulance and a chance meeting with the man of his dreams. Sadly he is not a Daddy but at least Red can hope. Paramedic Nate is on a routine call about a broken arm and is surprised and intrigued by a man who so openly admits his fear and pain. The man in question is also cute and when Nate's partner questions Red's decorating style and submissive tendencies Nate is more than intrigued. Could he really find the intimacy and care that he felt was missing from his life with someone like Red and what exactly was a little?

I really enjoyed this story with the adorable Red and a willing Nate who was prepared to learn everything he could in order to care for and love him. Ollie was a Little and all he wanted to do was by some more paint, a box of crayons and maybe some more candy at the supermarket. He never expected to meet the Daddy of his dreams in the store and be asked out in the baby aisle while selecting his favourite strawberry bubble bath. Marshall never expected to be anyone's Daddy but while he was enjoying a coffee and reading a book he met the eyes of a beautiful man who pushed every one of his buttons. Searching for him he finds him in the baby aisle looking at pacifiers and as soon as he realises that Oliver needs a Daddy to love and care for him, Marshall finally succumbs to the desires he’s suppressed for so long.

Egan (Shadow Recon Book 3)

Egan by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Berry's twin sister Cherry convinced her to try for the same training camp as her except none of her previous training prepared her for what she would face when there. Being stuck in close quarters during bad weather and with the missing or killed people it is hard for people to stay calm and in control. When her sister Cherry shows an ugly side to her personality she is not sure she can fix it. Wondering how many others it affected, Egan and Berry need to find out, before they become the next victims.

I enjoyed this story with the historical and present-day drama dragged into the same storyline. I don't know if much progress was made for the underlying problem but it did chip away at it a little bit. I loved the friendship and then the relationship that started between Egan and Berry but I'm sure it will become something much more over time. There was some drama in this story but a lot of it was emotional and revelations. Easy to read and understand.

I loved this story with the desperately sad pup who refused to come out because he had been so cruelly rejected and the man who was actually insecure thanks to bullying giving him body image issues. I loved how Billy was mature and able to give his Daddy the help he needed to be more confident while at the same time, Rochlan was able to give him all the care and support that he needed to know that he was more than enough for his Daddy and that it was safe for Barkington to come out. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB relationship with puppy play.

Take Me Home

Take Me Home by A.D. Ellis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Marc Kingsley lives and works in the big city for the family business. When he has a medical issue he is banished for several months to a tiny country town to recover. Jordan Moore lives on his farm growing vegetables and rearing chickens for their eggs. When his best friend's grandson comes to town his life gets torn upside down. Can Marc and Jordan find a brief, shared happiness even when they’ve accepted they’ll eventually have to walk away? Or will both men end up nursing broken hearts?

I really enjoyed this story with the losing battle over keeping apart from each other, the attempt at a long-distance relationship and then the rethinking of what home really was. I loved their relationship which if you separated their vigorous sex life was still a solid relationship with mutual respect and clear communication. I loved the ending. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Free Me (Love in the Pacific Northwest, #4)

Free Me by Beck Grey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Blake is doing his dream job and although it is lonely an occasional hookup keeps him ok. He is fine being a workaholic until he has chest pains and ends up in the emergency room. His family encourage him to make some life changes and he is worried enough to agree to start with engaging a meditation and physiotherapist. He is surprised to find out that his practitioner turns out to be the hookup he hasn’t been able to forget. Stef is gender-fluid and heads to a club to recharge his sparkle on the dance floor and even though it was not his original intention ends up with a hookup with a slightly older hottie in the Tom Ford suit. When starting with a new client Stef is shocked to discover that he is the hookup and is his friend's older brother. Mixing business with pleasure is a huge no-no but his heart keeps shouting yes.

I loved this story with the boring workaholic Blake and the vivacious Stef who together make the perfect combination. I loved the care that Blake took over listening to Stef and being careful to ask which pronounces to use that day. The way that Blake was determined to defend Stef and would not tolerate anyone disrespecting them was wonderful and a great lesson to us all. I loved the way that the story ended and that they were firmly a couple who were meant to be. This was an MM story with mature content.

The Date Mistake

The Date Mistake by Joelle Lynne
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Trevor is on his own, barely managing to get by and very lonely. He flirts with everyone at the coffee shop he works but when he flirted with his boss's brother it was strange as he thought that his boss Aaron was straight. At thirty-five Aaron was the eldest child and still single. When his brother asks him to be the best man at his wedding he finds himself inviting the waiter who flirted with his brother just hoping that his family have no problem with him taking a man.

I enjoyed this story with the cafe owner, the waiter and their fake date that became to be so much more. I loved the way that Trevor tried his hardest to be positive even though he was in such dire straits financially and that Aaron did his best to be respectful while dying to help him. I loved the fact that their friends helped to bring them back together after an incident that pushed them apart. Easy to read, feel and understand this is an MM story with mature content.

Choose Me (Love in The Pacific Northwest, #3)

Choose Me by Beck Grey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jules Evans has been in love with his brother's best friend since he was twelve. He suffered from social anxiety and which means his brother Stef is overprotective and that means he can't tell Eric how he feels for fear it would destroy their friendship. For years Eric thought Jules was a sweet kid who always beat him at Mario Kart and then he accidentally admits that he's in love with Eric and then doesn't remember saying anything but since then all Eric thinks about is kissing him. If it was anyone else he would have spoken to him but he is Stef's little brother who made it clear to me that Jules is off-limits. Can he convince them both that he is the right man for Jules?

I really enjoyed this story with the politics of families and people being off-limits, the undeniable attraction and how it led to discoveries about them both. They were such a sweet couple and I loved the way that Eric was so protective of Jules, but Jules was actually protective of Eric too. A sweet story and such a lovely affectionate name Eric used for Jules! Easy to read, feel and understand I loved the ending that they were firmly together as a couple. Master Zane's Boys: An MMM Age Gap/Daddy Romance by Morticia Knight

Master Zane owns Club Sensation in Boston and mentors the Kink community. He lives with his boy and Little Ryan and when he begs Zane to help a young homeless man in trouble he doesn't hesitate but does wonder why Tyrese is vague and in trouble. Ty is new to the world of BDSM but as the connection between the three men deepens Ty signals that he is ready for more than friendship and is ready to explore BDSM. When Ty reveals why he is so terrified Zane realises he will have to protect both of his boys and that they will need to outwit the enemy.

I enjoyed this story with the established Master and his Little who helped someone who became a part of their relationship. I loved the way that Ty gave Ryan what he needed when he was Little if his Daddy was not available and that he cared for him so that he was safe and happy. I loved the way that Zane was so protective of his boys and that he was determined to protect everyone in the kink community. Billionaire's Pet: Pride Pet Play by Lynn Michaels
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ward saw Jax and was captivated even though he was wearing his pup face mask in the parade. Jax wasn't sure why he was so attracted to the older man but wondered if he could become the master his pup needed. Only someone is getting in the way of all their fun, and Ward needs to figure out who before he loses everything.

I enjoyed this story with the Pride parade as the starting point, the attraction between the two men and the need for Ward to learn about pup play in order to accept all of Jax. I enjoyed the way their relationship was sensible and adult as they discussed everything even though there were still a few communication issues. I liked the intrigue as to who was targeting them and their relationship and how they were discovered and removed as a threat. Easy to read, feel and understand this was a MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like D/s relationship with puppy play.

Beauty & the Boy by Sue Brown
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Alec has been patient but now he needs Matt to make up his mind and commit to them as Daddy and boy but he refuses and seems to be pulling away. Matt knows that Daddy Bear wants a life together but he is broken inside and then there is Matt's hidden secret and when that is exposed it threatens to destroy his relationship with Alec as well as all of the other Brenners. Will Alec support his boy as their world crumbles around them? Will Matt run away rather than ask for what he needs?

I enjoyed this story although it was desperately sad when the secret came out. The fact that there was a reason to not commit to Alec was good as he was a good Daddy as far as I could see and they both loved each other deeply. Easy to read, feel and understand. Commanding Royal (Club Royal #7)

Commanding Royal by Elouise East
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

King Andrew has suffered many losses throughout his life which he would never wish upon anyone else, the greatest being the loss of his wife and Queen Louisa. Upon her death, he promised to do better with his family no matter the personal cost. When he finds himself wanting two people he knows he should stay away from them but will they let him? Kean loves his family but doesn't like them especially as he actually has an attraction to a friend who has been hurt enough and the king. When he gets a change he grabs it. Kendal plans to spend the rest of his life alone as they can no longer trust their instincts but two men have come to mean so much - can he trust them? Three people with entirely different needs come together in the unlikeliest of situations, but is the weight of the crown too much for them all to handle?

I loved this story which had the conclusion to the plot against the royal family and why it was started at all (it will be a surprise) and a chance to give the king happiness and once again prove that Louisa had predicted everything. The conclusion of the plot against the royal family was partially predictable but also a surprise as I had no idea of the origins of it. A great story that tied up so many loose ends and gave me hope that all of them would live happily ever after. Easy to read, feel and understand you will feel emotional at times. This is an MMM story with mature content and some BSDM-like behaviours and D/s. The scene in the club was very hot - the three men were just explosive at times.

Three Mafia brothers who are also Daddies have struggled to find a boy of their own and so decide to share one after a man called Jericho talks back to them in a bar. He's been to prison and survived there and when he questions their abilities to be a Daddy they are determined to prove him wrong.

This was a pleasant story although the writing style of this particular series is a little hard for me to cope with. I liked the connections to the other Daddy series, especially the Russian protectors' books. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MMMM story with very mature content.

Tadhg returned home to Seattle after a nasty breakup with a manipulative ex to focus on his career as an architect. He has some challenges with that as he is Deaf and as much as his equally driven colleague Quinn MacDougall tries, can he really understand what it is like and live as a deaf person when he can hear?

I really enjoyed this story as it highlighted some important issues - the first being how hard it is in the real world when you are deaf, the second how hard it is in a relationship when one partner has a disability and the third how demanding families can be and that you need to stand up for yourself and your partner. This was sensitively written and told. I loved their relationship and their discussions of important subjects. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Save Me (Love in the Pacific Northwest, #1)

Save Me by Beck Grey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jamie MacDougall like a rookie fell in love with a witness he was assigned to protect after getting past his sass he discovered the generous caring man behind the mask. He did everything he could to keep it professional even though it killed him and when the case was over he had to hand him over to his new life even though after a year he still thinks of him and can't move on. Ash testified against his best friend's father for conducting illegal drug trials but he also fell for the deputy marshall protecting him. After 12 months he goes back to Seattle but his past is hot on his heels and so he turns to Jamie to protect him as he is the only person he can trust.

I loved this story with the strong man who is professional and plays everything by the book apart from one thing - his heart which didn't get the memo. I loved Ash who was just fierce, loyal and very sweet. I was thrilled when they were finally together and the gift his best friend gave him allowed him to do exactly what he wanted for a profession. Ball & Chain by A.W. Scott
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Dallas has focused on his career for years getting through college then law school, passing the bar and then being hired by a firm. Then he saw Justice Bexley and all his protective instincts came to the fore. For Justice dance was his escape from a world of chaos until he was noticed and then he was moulded into have others wanted him to be. He had searched for something that was just his and then he met a lawyer full of demands on how he’d like to please him.

I loved this story with the tortured ballet dancer who hid in the dance which brought him joy until he met lawyer Dallas when his source of joy changed. His dance coach was just evil as were his parents - I'll leave it at that. I loved that Dallas did everything he could to meet and be with Justice around their jobs even though he had to keep flying to do it. I was so happy when they got a happy ending. Shaken & Stirred by A.W. Scott

Rob works for Mateo Rojas which means he is well paid and that is always on time. Managing the club meant he could have his choice of any man or woman and he had a group of friends. But the place is in dire need of an experienced bartender and then the boss tells him that he has a new guy that he thinks will be a good fit. Casey's father and mother were gunned down by one of his father's bookies when he was a kid. Bouncing around foster carer he learnt a few things and so he goes to work for one of friend Benji's friends - but there is a catch - the guy seems to hate his guts. In an intervention, it all boils down to three days, two stubborn men and one bedroom in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. Passion ignites when feelings are shared and these two realize their hate for each other might not be hate at all.

I enjoyed this story with the two passionate men that started with dislike, then sex followed by shared personal information which turned into affection. I loved that they seemed to get on fine until Rob went back into his head and almost blew it all completely. Thank goodness their friends did another intervention to point out his destructive behaviour. I loved the way he tried to fix it which was very dramatic and put everything out there. Merry Faking Christmas by Della Cain
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Knox was looking forward to a quiet Christmas with his family but his sister had other ideas and has announced that she is getting married but is also trying to set him up with a date for the wedding. In a panic, he tells her he already has a boyfriend and will be bringing him. However, there is a problem as he is very single and needs to find a date. When his neighbour Pierce brings him a parcel that was delivered Knox invites him to the Christmas wedding. He agrees on the condition that they have dinner together once a week until then to get to know each other. It sounds like a reasonable plan until feelings start to get in the way.

I enjoyed this story with the neighbours who became friends and then lovers then a Daddy/boy. I thought that Pierce was a lovely person who was helpful, organised and very protective of Knox. The cooking lessons were great as they killed two purposes a once. I loved the ending. Easy to read, feel and understand. Close & Personal by A.W. Scott
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Curtis didn't fit into his small home town and everything changed when Benji arrived. They were so happy together until one night was life-changing and sent him running away. Benji spent so many hours trying to find him on his own and with the help of multiple private detectives determined to get him back. Finally finding him alive and well was a total shock, that he ran from him wasn't a surprise as he never liked confrontation after all, leaving town the day after our wedding was proof of that.

Wow. In many ways this story was addictive and I was thrilled for them both to find each other again, but I also found it difficult to cope with - after all, when you know that certain people would do anything to split you up and make trouble, then why did you believe them and not wait to ask for clarification from the one-person you love more than anything else in the world? Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Pretty Puppy by Morticia Knight

Asher Griffin first met Daddy Lee Petrovsky when he was a young pup and just starting his kink journey. But he was flighty and full of himself and so left. But he was miserable and never stopped loving him and he is now back in town hoping that he can somehow get him back. Five years ago Lee fell too hard and fast for pretty Ash and since then he tried to only seek out more mature boys but no one has ever crushed the walls of steel he keeps around his heart. Can Ash prove to Lee that this time it isn’t just a case of puppy love?

I enjoyed this story with Ash trying his best to get back to his Daddy and try to start again (if he can only get a second chance with him). I liked the way that Ash's plans failed but Lee was able to find him and give him the chance that he needed. It was also nice to have it centred around the Pet Play at the Lake events which have their own series. This was easy to read, feel and understand. Diva Pop (Command & Care #5)

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Silas Jones takes over the management of Three Trick Pony a dance music sensation due to the departure of their original manager and there are some doubts about the status of the band partially due to the behaviour of the lead singer Jett Fine and his diva attitude. Silas would love to get him alone and give him a spanking but he'd love to do other things to him too. Jett finds it hard to believe their record company hired the biggest asshole he has ever met to manage them. He'll have to get him into bed so he can have him wrapped around his finger. But what if Silas is the one with all the tricks up his sleeve?

I enjoyed this story with the brat Jett and the Daddy Dom Silas and how he found a way to tame him and get him to start to think about his behaviour and reasons for them. I did think there could have been more detail on the reasons and how he could move on from that. I also felt that more could have been made of his relationship with his mother. It was sweet the way he changed and the way that Silas took care of him. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic with some spanking and dressing in lacy underwear and heels.

Tucker had a plan for his life and it was on track until the man he chose was shown up as a liar and a cheat who was only using him to climb the social ladder. Since then Tucker has been a shell of the man he used to be and needs someone to break him out of the darkness. Patrick knew the first time he saw Tucker that he was the perfect boy for him but at the time he wasn't available. When he realises he is now free he waits until it becomes apparent that his hurt is far deeper than anyone thought. After promising that Tucker will be able to feel again and spanking changes Patrick into wanting just Tucker in any way he can have him if only his heart will let him in.

I enjoyed this story with the betrayal, the hurt, the friends who did whatever it took to break him out, and the man who was devoted to bringing him back to life. It was lovely to read of the slow steps that were taken to help him cry and then be capable of smiling again. I was thrilled when he was able to be everything that they both needed for their HEA. Officer Daddies: Jackson, Wesley, and Trent

Officer Daddies: Jackson, Wesley, and Trent by Christine Aster
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wesley's mother controls his life insisting he behaves as a man of his status would, being the best and marrying well which makes him miserable. This has the consequence of making him behave like a brat but when a sexy police officer tells him that he needs a spanking he is more than happy to let him although he wonders if he will leave like everyone else or stay and become his Daddy. Jackson is tired of hookups and wants to settle down but when he finds Wesley crying backstage he realises that he needs his love and discipline and he won't let anyone (even Wesley's mother) from stopping him from being his Daddy. Trent has been in love with his best friend and work partner Jackson but as two doms they ate too alike. Maybe if they have the right boy to share it would bring them together. When Esley'smother does something unthinkable the guys have to find him to save him before he is taken away.

This was a sweet story where Wesley was in desperate need of a Daddy to help him with his overbearing mother and her control of him. As soon as he got the confidence o take his own path it was much better for his health and more dangerous for him. I enjoyed the mystery as to how his mother would strike back and that it was just an observation from a colleague that helped them to find him. Easy to read, feel and understand. Rushing into Love (Bellport #1)

Rushing into Love by A.W. Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jake Bellport loves hockey and as he has loads of money he decided to build his own tea. All goes well until he needs to replace a couple of players when he goes for his two favourite players in the league - who are lifelong rivals and hate each other. Maddox plays in Canada and has a comfortable (but lonely) life but things change drastically when he is told he has been traded and he has to start again. Leon is a hothead who lives and breathes the game. When he finds out his had been traded his temper nearly gets the best of him, He packs his essentials and drives from Dallas to Bellport to join his new team. When they both discover that they have been traded to the same team and the owner is a naughty boy needing a Daddy (or two)things get decidedly more complex. Can they both learn to work together in the name of love? Will Jake’s mischievous plans pay off by giving him the men he’s obsessed over for far too long?

This was a fun story with the two rivals suddenly having to cope with each other, sharing and finding out that their lives were not as great in the past as they thought. Jake was a fun character and I loved the way he handled having both of them and not just one. This was easy to read, feel and understand. I liked the involvement of their families and that it added just a little complication to the dynamic. This is a MMM story with mature content in the format of a BSDM-like DDLB and D/s dynamics.
