Remi Bellerive is of french origin, hot, a vampire and the undisputed champion in high stakes poker where you can always find him in a game watched by his girlfriend Michelle. However the new guy on the block TripleAce is determined to replace Remi and has a lucky charm and plans to use it to defeat him. Sophie is caught in the dark world of TripleAce and is desperately trying to find a way to escape although the through of the henchman Hans and what he will do to her is a big deterrent until she gets a chance and takes it. There have been many murders of humans and The Directive are determined to investigate and stop it. Magno Zara has dispatched his lead investigator, Clarence Collins, and his second in command, Jana Noskova, to team up with New Orleans local, Ethan Boudreaux, to locate and bring to justice those responsible for the crimes. Then Remi is struck by the Thirst and find himself out of control with blood-lust. Can he stay clear of The Directive and find his fated mate?
Wow - this is a mega roller-coaster of action, emotions and lots of danger in this gripping story of true love. Remi is just so HOT and his use of French just makes you melt. Then when he gets the thirst you can only admire the way he fights and struggles to maintain his control over himself. As to some of his skills - yes PLEASE!! This is a great story with plenty of surprises and lots of emotions that I could feel and be involved with all the way through the book. I was definitely rooting for some of the characters and hoping they would find their HEA. A very enjoyable read that was very well written too!
