Shay tours the BDSM clubs asking the one question to the sadists - “Will you beat me without knowing the reason?” because he wants punishment as all he can focus on are images of grief, fire, and accusation and the piercing tone of a machine letting him know that he'll have to tell his two kid brothers that our sister’s heart will never beat again. Most decline immediately as they adhere to safe, sane, and consensual. Then he tries twin sadists River and Reece Tenley and after asking his questions they give him a stone-cold once over, and he gets the response “Sure. It’s your funeral.”.
I enjoyed this story as they worked hard on Shay to try and break down his grief and insistence that he was to blame for his family's deaths It was a method used by sadists and a masochist but it did seem to work. I loved how over time the Daddy side came out more and that Shay was able to accept the past. River and Reece were a pleasant surprise as they had a lot of Daddy tendencies. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content in a BSDM-like DDLB/D/s dynamics.
