Review: Simon Says... Swim by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars

Simon Says... Swim (Kate Morgan #8)

Simon Says... Swim by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Detective Kate Morgan is trying to work out if the case on her desk is a homicide and following leads only confuses until someone slips up or slips away literally. Simon wakes, choking on water, drowning in the darkness of his night, struggling to understand what madness he is connecting to now. With few answers and nothing that makes sense Simon tries to help a young man in desperate need of assistance and yet hiding something. As Kate works her way through the details of multiple cases, or not cases, the realisation is worse than anyone had realised.

This was a confusing time for Kate and Simon as they struggled to work through a complex series of linked cases and circumstances hidden behind a tight wall of secrecy. The truth was sinister and genius depending on the side you observed it from. I still find the relationship between Kate and Simon a little strange but it works for them. I also loved that with each case Kate gets tighter with the rest of the homicide team. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
