Wendell needs to figure out why his magic won't work. Desperate for help, he moves across the country to track down a group of Fate-blessed healers. One of these healers is a sexy wolf shifter who doesn't mind a little hands-on TLC, Wendell takes the opportunity to ignore his real-life troubles for a night of knotty goodness. Raffaello (Rafe) is next in line for the role of Alpha King, only he can't take his rightful spot without finding his mate. When a handsome witch comes to his family for healing, he lets himself have one night of passion to free his mind of his troublesome future. Months pass before the pair crosses paths again at, of all things, a Christmas Parade. Rafe is surprised to discover Wendell is sporting a very round baby bump and bursting with magic and Wendell is shocked to find the baby he's carrying has royal Alpha wolf blood. The pair has to navigate not only a new, first-of-its-kind hybrid baby but also Wendell's uncontrollable magic and Rafe's family obligations while trying to figure out if their one night can lead to forever.
This was a sweet twist on a paranormal alpha/omega story as it was between a wolf shifter and a magician. I liked the source of damage to Wendell's magic which had a real resonance to the real world which has a very similar problem. I like the twist involving Wendell's Mum. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content set in the omegaverse including mpreg.
