Eve rented a cabin so she could escape from city life but is then abducted by scary mantis-like aliens. Doran is among them but is kind and human-like and even though she feels drawn to him she is not convinced she can trust him. When Doran accepted a job from the Saithin he never expected to find a human woman to who he is drawn so much. His life was ruled by logic but his predictive life as a Qui was boring - but working on this ship he never imaged he would take part in an abduction mission. When he sees Eve he faces an impossible decision that will challenge everything he thought he knew. Will he take a leap of faith and take the risk?
I enjoyed this prequel to the series which was a nice start to what sounds like an interesting series. I liked the way that he treated Eve with care and respect and tried his best to give her choices to pick her own destiny (although I was also thrilled when she chose the way he wanted it to be). Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.
