Believing he is not so bad off compared to others, Navy SEAL Gregory Parkins has primarily come to Hathaway House because he desperately wants to see and reconnect with nurse Meredith Anderson who he loves but split up from her five years ago. Since then his life has been a string of disasters including the accident which ended his career. Meredith was horrified to hear what happened to Gregory but seeing his file is even more of a shock as he thinks he is back to normal and she knows he has a long way to go and has no idea to break that to him in case he leaves before he gets treatment. She also has another reason for him not walking away - she would like it if they could find a way to reconnect and even start again to get a second chance.
I really enjoyed this story which involved the staff using extreme measures to get Gregory to see he wasn't right and that he needed to focus on the anger that was hidden within him from what happened before he could make real progress. The therapist Shane was a real badass who really went for tough love in order to get the result! Easy to read and understand. Definitely a story to make you sigh with relief.
