Review: Reborn: The Royal Pack Trilogy Book 1 by Anne K. Whelan by Liz Cain 4 of 5 stars

Reborn: The Royal Pack Trilogy Book 1Reborn: The Royal Pack Trilogy Book 1 by Anne K. Whelan by Liz Cain
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

She woke up in the woods with no memory of who she was nor how she got there. Aine has to rely on the kindness of others to recover from violence and black magic in order to get back on her feet. A handsome Irish stranger called Lachlan helps her to start a new life but in her dreams, her memories start to come back and it becomes clear what she is and that she cannot ignore her duty any longer else it will be forever destroyed.

This story started out as a mystery drip-feeding information just like it would have been for Aine as she recovered her memories. It was clear that she had some kind of supernatural skills but it took a while for us to realise that she was some kind of shifter. It was nice to see the way that trust was built between Lachlan and Aine and that we also found out what he actually was slowly too. Kind of a Romeo and Juliette in the shifter world. I loved the way she was so cool and able to control herself as well as understand her own limitations. I loved the ending to the evil person who directed the attack on her although there is a sting in the tail which we will discover in the next book. It was easy to read and understand if you remembered that we were discovering information at a similar speed as she was. Contains some sexual content although not explicit nor gratuitous. Definitely worth a read if you like shifter stories that have a supernatural twist to them too.
