Review: Finn by Dale Mayer 3 of 5 stars

Finn (Hathaway House #6)

Finn by Dale Mayer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Navy SEAL Finn MacGregor only has half of one of his legs and a stoma which means he has to use a colostomy bag when he arrives at Hathaway House. While it is great to see old friend Dani Hathaway and hr father the Major, it's tough feeling like the last sexy man on earth especially when he meets the pretty nurse in charge of his care. Nurse Fiona Smithers has seen everything and so Finn's physical problems don't daunt her. Once before one of her patients had misunderstood gratitude for love and so still devastated that her friendliness was misunderstood and how it affected his healing ao she is very careful to not run the risk of that happening again. This time she might not be able to help it as she wants Finn in her life permanently but after seeing his obsession with her in his artworks is not convinced it is possible. Can they find a want to move on?

I enjoyed this story and it was interesting to explore the misunderstanding which can occur between a patient and carer when it comes to romance and the long term effect on the carer. I also loved that Finn was so self-conscious about his stoma and colostomy bag as I feel that mirrors a lot of people in this life. It was a sweet romance story with some gritty real-life issues intertwined. Easy to read and understand.
