Appalachian Magic Series: Witches, Fairies and Immortals Paranormal Romance by Debbie Herbert
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Charmed and Dangerous - 5 stars
Callie Bradford returns home from exile and falls for James MacLauren - problem is she is a witch and is struggling to keep her magic a secret from him. However it gets so much worse when her father (a rogue warlock) will get his coven to kill anyone who stops her from joining them and taking part in their dark magic. However James also has a secret - he is an immortal and he really doesn't need to get tied up with a watch who could bind and imprison him. Can they work together to survive when covens and immortals are in a battle let alone when the alternative is either death or domination by black magic?
Wow - so many twists and turns in this story you will never be bored. I loved the characters as they were very real and believable. I really loved that Callie was a strong woman who was not shy to take or ask for whatever she wanted. James was a lovely guy and I could completely understand why he was so captivated by Callie and why the perceived risks of associating with her were not enough to stay away. Everything was clear and very easy to understand. I definitely enjoyed this story and can't wait to find out what happens next.
Changling - 4 stars
Witch Skye works at a store called The Green Fairy and strange things are happening there when she starts to find dead fairies. Kheelan is a changling who was raised by fairies and is trying to find hope in working towards getting freedom from the Fae and sees Skye as a a way of escaping them - as long as he doesn't let any developing feelings for her distract him. When Kheelan explains that she is actually half fairy and has some hidden powers she finds it hard to take him seriously and has to struggle to try and master the two sides of herself. With the approach of Samhain (Halloween) can she claim her heritage, Kheelan's love and restore order between the Seelie and Unseelie in Fairy?
Lots and lots of action and drama in this story. It helps if you read the previous one in the series but it is still possible to enjoy it if you don't. Well written and lots of twists and turns in this story that I really enjoyed.
Charmed by the Salem Witch - 5 stars
Sarah is a student in her Freshman Year at the Women’s College of Salem hoping to meet other students of The Craft as well as make some friends. She joins a coven with some girls in her hall but she then notices strange things and the others seem to have a problem with her but he has no idea why this is all happening. Tanner is a cute IT guy working for the University and helps to uncover a dark secret from her family. Sarah has to learn to trust Tanner to survive the year and Tanner is going to have to accept his powers if Sarah is going to survive events when the blood moon rises at Samhain.
I loved this story. It had lots of intrigue and drama and led you one way only for it to change at the end. Well written and very enjoyable.
