My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Chicago cop Simon Grant is on the run, falsely accused of murder and hunted by ruthless enemies. Desperate and out of options, he seeks refuge at Sanctuary—only to be met by Cain Brodie, a man who doesn’t trust easily and has no reason to help. Cain, determined to keep his operation clean, reluctantly takes Simon in. But what begins as a tense alliance quickly deepens into something far more powerful: a bond forged in danger, loyalty, and unexpected desire. As betrayal and violence close in, Simon and Cain must navigate a deadly conspiracy and the fragile hope that love might be their only way out. When the dust settles, they’ll face the ultimate question—can love truly redeem two men shaped by shadows?
I loved this story which was packed with emotional depth and high-stakes tension. I liked how the story explored how trust is built not through words, but through action and sacrifice. I enjoyed that the story explored how crisis strips away pretense, revealing what truly matters. Love becomes not just a comfort, but a reason to fight, survive, and hope. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
