Worlds Collide

Worlds Collide by R.J. Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When a routine escort mission turns into a deadly ambush, Dale finds himself stranded in a snowy wilderness with a frightened witness and mounting casualties. His only lifeline is Joseph, a seasoned SEAL who will risk everything to rescue the man he loves. As the crisis intensifies, both men must confront old wounds and the depth of their bond. In the aftermath of violence and betrayal, they’re left with one burning question: can love survive the battlefield—and build something lasting beyond it?

I loved this story where the central theme is the resilience of love in the face of extreme danger. Dale and Joseph’s bond is tested by violence, betrayal, and high-stakes survival, yet it endures. Their connection becomes a lifeline, proving that love isn’t just romantic—it’s a source of strength and clarity when everything else falls apart. I liked that the remote setting strips away pretense, forcing characters to confront what truly matters. I loved that at the final showdown, Dale and Joseph needed to decide if their love could extend beyond crisis. The story ends with a question: when the danger is gone, can they build something lasting? This speaks to the fragility and power of hope—how survival is just the beginning of a deeper journey. Easy to feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
