This is a story about Griffin Burke, who has just moved to Coolum Beach for a fresh start, and Dane Hughes, who is stuck at a work conference, brought together by Dane's lost dog. Griffin finds a mud-covered dog named Wicket and contacts the owner, Dane. Dane is distraught but unable to leave his conference to retrieve his pet. Griffin agrees to look after Wicket for a few days. As Griffin takes the dog on coastal adventures and sends photos of their fun to Dane, a "new and wonderful" connection begins to form between the two men via text.
I loved this sweet meet-cute romance where a "four-legged" helper played matchmaker. Wicket the dog was central to the story I loved how a chance encounter blossomed into something unexpected. I loved the side characters too especially Griffin's landlady who had plenty of secrets. So many emotions and feelings that were very easy to feel and understand. A very emotional story. This was an MM story with mature content.
