Marcus is one of the four best friends who host The Vers queer podcast where he is known as The Realist because he accepts life as it is, believes in honesty over sugarcoating and can be a little bossy. He is seen as the caretaker who always thinks of others while they don't believe him when he says feelings are the worst. Then he offers Kai Lewis a place to stay when he needs one even though he is a flirt and makes no secret about wanting to be in Marcus's bed (even though he is the employee of some of the Vers guys and so Marcus is determined not to take advantage of him). Kai always wears shorts that leave nothing to the imagination and before long Marcus can't resist him especially as he listens in the bedroom even if he doesn't elsewhere. Marcus thinks a relationship wouldn't be so bad between them but he is nine years younger and leaving soon.
I enjoyed this story with the two guys who dance around each other until they can't resist the physical side of things and each other. Really it was inevitable that they would end up together it was just was case of when the offer that was taking Kai away fell through. There is one time when Kai explains quite clearly to Marcus's parents some mistakes that they have made and that was just spectacular - if that wasn't proof of love I don't know what is. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
