Toby Merrow lives in the city and needs a change of scenery so two weeks at a dude ranch sounds like a tonic (and if one of the other guests shows up on Scruff for a hookup even better - if he still has the energy after riding out and herding cattle). Ranch owner Robert Thorston’s foreman died five years ago but he was more than that to him and ever since everything associated with that life has gathered dust. Instead, he has thrown himself into the business ignoring that part of his life until the new guest catches his eye. It is obvious that Robert and Toby have a connection which they are determined to make the best of while he is there. Then Toby discovers a coiled rope under the bed and leather cuffs in the drawer and things get interesting.
I loved this story about the ranch, the owner and his late foreman, Toby and their relationship. I loved the relationship between Robert and his ranch hands who really were a family with him at the head. They clearly loved him and did everything to give the two men the space to explore what was happening between them The relationship between Robert and Toby was sweet and I was thrilled when they were finally together properly. Lots of emotions in this story and a few opportunities to cry too. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like D/s dynamic.
