Cree was on a job tailing someone when he came across a domestic dispute and so he stepped in and rescued Nebraska who will end up being his true love and the only man who could break him. While Nebraska knows he is not free to leave the strangers he ends up living with he cannot escape Crees's heated gaze that follows him everywhere. Now all he has to do is survive… and make his surly bodyguard fall in love with him. No pressure.
I enjoyed this story with the tough men who all lived on Archer's estate and worked as bodyguards and assassins who took Nebraska and made him part of their dysfunctional family. Cree was definitely a tortured soul and he was fortunate that Nebraska loved him so much as his jealous reaction would have finished off their association for most people. This was definitely a dark story with love and passion at the heart of it. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.
