In Detroit, everyone is either alpha, beta or omega including omega Leland and his boss alpha Nicholas who are also shifters. Nicholas needs someone to pretend to be his fiance so he doesn't have to enter into an arranged marriage and Leland could use the money his boss is offering so one weekend, one deception and then everything can go back to normal. With all of the lies, Leland finds himself wondering what is real and what is acting and their animals keep screaming that they are fated mates but they aren't sure if that is true or not. Will going through with this farce ruin everything they’ve built over the years?
I enjoyed this story with the two men who were so determined to keep their relationship at work in a good state that they ignored the attraction between them and their animals. I loved that they were both very respectful of each other and that they were determined to not damage their friendship. That Nicholas spoke out to protect Leland was a wonderful thing to see and showed that he would do anything to protect his alpha. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and is set in the omegaverse including mpreg.
