Evan isn't brave but when he hears a group of Human Firsters attacking a human garbage collection bot he steps in. He rescued an Undiscovered SPARK (a self-aware android) who had never experienced life outside of his collection route and the trash depot. He has also underestimated just how cute Quincy can be and how difficult it is to live with a sexy android. If he couldn't get his exes to stick around he has no chance of hanging onto Quincy. Quincy loves making food in Evan's Kitchen even though he can't eat it and jokes. He also loves Evan. As Quincy settles into his new life, he can't escape from prejudice against SPARKs. Evan is everything he could want if only he could stay off the Human Firsters’ radar long enough to win his love.
This was a weird story but underneath all, it covered prejudice against people and the resistance in some parts of society over love between two people. I liked that Evan tried hard to educate Quincy as o how things worked and their meanings but also that Quincy was intelligent enough to reach his own conclusions. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is similar to an MM story with mature content. There are elements of a BSDM-like D/s dynamic.
