My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Bashiri, the last surviving seer, has spent his life in quiet obscurity—tending to his animals, running a meditation studio, and avoiding the vampire Petru, who has rejected him one too many times. But when enemies grow bolder and his life is threatened, the Blood Boss sends protection, including the ever-sullen Petru. Petru is fiercely dedicated to keeping Black Veil safe and has no patience for seers or their visions. But as he shields Bashiri from danger, his buried feelings resurface, and he finds himself unwilling to let Bashiri go. As Bashiri’s centennial birthday nears, the magical shield hiding him begins to fail, revealing long-buried secrets and attracting new allies in a fight where defeat isn’t an option. With powerful enemies closing in, Bashiri and Petru must face impossible odds to carve out a future together—but survival isn’t guaranteed, and neither is love’s eternity.
I loved this story as Petru fought his attraction to Bashiri and their allies fought to save Bashiri's life. There was a lot of danger and drama as the plot against seers was revealed and the players at the centre of it. There were a lot of emotions and feelings around Petru and Bashiri as they sorted out their relationship. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story.
