Carter ignored his inheritance or working for his family and joined the Navy and became a SEAL. When serving he met Matteo and was transfixed. Their relationship endangered everything they had worked for until he joined our enemies and betrayed Carter. A year later Matteo is Carter's prisoner and although he wants to destroy him Matteo has secrets, ones that involve Carter's family, ones that make him question everything he thought he knew. Nothing is as it seems. The only thing Carter knows for sure is that Matteo wants his body, his forgiveness, and his heart and he is considering giving him everything.
I enjoyed this story with the two men who loved each other with everything and had a violent level of passion. The problems with Carter's family were deep and highly personal and it was good to see Carter's friends getting involved to help and protect him. I enjoyed all of the descriptions of the environments, their thoughts and feelings which added the right level of detail. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
