Review: A Cold Winter's Night by Megs Pritchard 4 of 5 stars

A Cold Winter's Night (Salutem, #3)

A Cold Winter's Night by Megs Pritchard
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Marco Gomez had gone camping with friends for the weekend when a bear came into their campsite and Clarke Sterling saved them. There were signs that they shouldn't be camping there then Clarke caught the scent of his mate. Staring into the eyes of his saviour Marco felt an undeniable attraction, one he was more than happy to explore until Clarke told him exactly who Marco was to him. Marco knew about shifters and mates and wanted nothing to do with it. He had his future planned and it didn’t involve a mate. But the separation haunted him. A long-distance relationship developed until the scientist found Marco. Reacting in fear and anger Marco ended their relationship leaving Clarke shattered at losing his mate. Could they bridge the gap between them and could Clarke keep his mate safe now the scientists knew about him?

I loved this story with the two storylines of Marco accepting Clarke as his mate and the scientists pursuing shifters and their mates. Both sides were dramatic and important in their way. Both men were stubborn in their way which was sometimes useful but at other times unhelpful. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.
