Review: Mine to Keep by Megs Pritchard 4 of 5 stars

Mine to Keep (Rescue Inc. #4)

Mine to Keep by Megs Pritchard
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Troy Bailey hated vampires and wanted them all dead. There was only one small problem – he was one and he fought hard to deny his true nature. But, by avoiding the truth he didn’t know the signs, didn’t know how to recognize when his mate stood in front of him until it was too late. Because of his ignorance, he was now tied to a man who didn’t want him. Human Alejandro ‘Ale’ Martin didn’t do relationships and didn’t want to be part of one. But he was unable to stop the inevitable and in the aftermath was left irrevocably mated to someone too young and too inexperienced. Someone who had barely begun to live his life. Avoiding him wasn’t working though because Ale could feel his pain and anger, could feel his hunger. How long could he deny their connection, when his mate was suffering, even when it was for the best?

This was such a sad story for most of it because it was all about Troy's anger and suffering and Ale's determination to stay away from him not helped by all of the threats he was receiving from Troy's Dad. I was so glad when Ale finally understood that he could not avoid Troy and that their relationship was possible and not as bad as he thought it was. As for Troy's grandfather, he was just evil and it was no wonder his daughter turned out the way she did. Drama and danger in this story which thankfully had the right ending. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
