Wolf shifter Deacon Morrison was struggling to protect the residents of Morefield Village from those who wanted to experiment on his kind. That was until human Costas, his mate, the one person meant for him came into his life. Costas Synolakis had been kidnapped and forced to harm shifters to keep his daughters safe and now he wanted nothing to do with them. There was one small problem and that was that he lived in Salutem, a town full of shifters and there was Deacon. When he notices irregularities at the doctor's surgery he works at, he turns to Deacon for help. Can the lives of those who depend on them be saved or would they be too late?
I loved this story with the torture Deacon was going through while Costas ignored him and then when things thawed between them they became a family. It was sad to see them make progress against their enemies and then they still struck within the village. Lots of feelings and emotions in this story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.
