While on a rescue mission to free Carter's family Dean was captivated by vampire Wyatt who was also a prisoner. Finding out he was his mate he knew he needed to give him time to recover. Wyatt could never forget the day he was rescued as fate gave him his mate but he had not begun to live his life and wasn’t ready to be in a lifelong commitment, even if it was the one destined to complete him. Was he too scared to believe in the possibilities of a life with his mate? When the vampires kidnap, Wyatt and Carter, Dean faces a race against time to save his mate. Will he reach him in time, or will Wyatt face a painful death?
I enjoyed this story with the human rescuing the vampire and yet another mating. The hesitancy and the sensitivity between them were touching and the irony of Wyatt being taken again was unfortunate. I liked their communication and that they talked to each other about thoughts and feelings. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
