Review: Starting Over by Megs Pritchard 3 of 5 stars

Starting Over (Let Love In #1)

Starting Over by Megs Pritchard
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

After the end of his last relationship, Ian spent most of his time with his rescue dog and doing up his house. On a night out he sees the son of one of his ex-colleagues who was a cute kid then but is a gorgeous man now. Ryan's life has been hard for the last few years as his father was diagnosed with dementia so he left college to care for him and when he died there was a mountain of debt and Ryan had to sell everything to clear the debt to the point that he now lived on a friend's sofa. Ian offers Ryan his spare room but they have to battle the attraction they feel for each other. Could they keep their relationship as friends only or should they take a chance on each other?

This was a sweet story but I did find their relationship a little strange as it swung from the age difference and an ex-colleague's child to attraction and doing something about it. It moved a bit too quickly. I loved the way that the dog gave comfort to Ryan and that she became a glue between them. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
