Bo is the Hellhound Alpha and has left his realm to search for his mate. He finds himself in a small town in a BDSM club. Bear shifter Craig has watched over his packmate Nate who is a Bobcat shifter knowing that one day he will have to let him go as he knows that Bears have two mates even though he lost his heart to Nate years ago. So his main purpose is to keep Nate safe and happy. Nate is broken and it doesn't matter how many times any of his family tells him he is not as he knows the truth. He is an ex-military sniper with blood on his hands and has lost his ability to scent after an explosion. He also suffers from PTSD and night terrors. He can only feel safe and comfortable when he is little and he knows that it is far too much trouble for his mate to care for him. In one instant everything changes for the three men and they need to now fight to become the strong triad they were meant to be.
I enjoyed this story with the tortured Nate due to the side effects after his military service and Craig's love of Nate who he assumes will be someone else's mate. The appearance of Bo was like the glue between the three men and everything came to a sharp conclusion. I loved the way that Craig and Nate were mates and that Bo was fiercely protective of them both. Their conversations about their thought and feelings were enlightening and I could feel empathy with them all. Easy to feel, read and understand, This was an MMM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.
