Dashiell uses his fists to stop a vicious assault on a young, blonde and beautiful man who is the bratty kept boy of a gangland thug. Instead of thanks, he is offered a job as the boy's bodyguard for a good cash amount which his out-of-work self finds impossible to turn down even if he is not wald of the strings attached. Billy knows that he is the property of a violent criminal and that just one wrong word can lead to a beating or worse. He yearns for a man who will keep him safe, love and protect him. Dashiell could be that man but only if he dares to follow his heart. Their love is forbidden, and danger stalks their every move. Escape is the only option but as the walls close in, is time running out for Dashiell and Billy?
I enjoyed this story with the danger to Billy, the reason he put up with it, the way that he and Dashiell got close having fun as a break from his normal fearful routine and their love for each other. The conclusion was dangerous but I was so happy that they got the HEA they deserved at the end. There were a lot of emotional parts about Billy's gran and the way he took care of her. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
