This is a story of second chances, unresolved emotions, and rekindled tensions. Brooks returns to his small hometown of Eden, Wyoming, after years away, intending only to save his uncle’s horse ranch. But he’s unprepared to face Xavier, the boy he once trusted and loved, who he believes betrayed him and his family years ago. Xavier, newly released from prison, has found his dream job as a ranch foreman and is determined to rebuild his life. However, fate brings Brooks back into his world, stirring up old wounds and passions. As they clash over their shared history and present circumstances, they must confront lingering mistrust and unspoken feelings. It's a tale of love, redemption, and overcoming past betrayals.
I loved this story with the two men separated in their teens after betrayal and lies. Everything was tense and tortured between them both until Brookes started to understand the differences between his view of events and what actually happened. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story as they picked through the past and present. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
