Phoenix Jones, a former military man, finds a new path in an underground vigilante group led by Ronan Grisham after personal tragedies derail his career. Tasked with shadowing Levi Deming, a young man with a dark past who once harmed Ronan's husband, Phoenix anticipates an easy job. However, Levi, burdened by guilt from a crime committed at sixteen, is now trying to do good despite his troubled past. As Phoenix and Levi’s paths cross, Phoenix realises Levi is not the hardened criminal he expected but a man struggling with immense guilt and difficult circumstances. Their interaction reveals the complexities of redemption and the blurred lines between right and wrong.
I loved this story with the struggling Levi and determined Phoenix coming together in this emotional story. You couldn't help but feel for Levi and understand how he was as much a victim as Seth. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
