Review: Forbidden: King by Sloane Kennedy 4 of 5 stars

Forbidden: King

Forbidden: King by Sloane Kennedy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

King, a man who rescues kidnapped children, has been avoiding his makeshift family for two years, unable to face his growing, forbidden feelings for Giovanni (Gio) Covello, the son of his best friend. Gio, now almost twenty, sees King as more than an uncle and struggles with haunting memories of his own abduction. Their paths cross again in New York City, where Gio is trying to build an independent life. While King wrestles with his guilt and attraction, Gio seeks more than just protection from the man who once saved him. As King moves into Gio's life and under his roof, the tension between them grows, threatening their delicate balance and exposing emotions neither man can ignore.

I loved this story of King struggling to resist Gio who needed him in many ways. Their relationship was passionate and explosive when they were both on the same page but there was also a lot of tenderness between them. The story was full of emotions and feelings as they worked through everything between themselves as well as with their family and friends. This was an MM story with mature content.
