Aleks Silva, rescued by his older brother from sex trafficking, struggles with daily life and choices that once came at a steep price. Vaughn, tasked with keeping Aleks a secret, fails his job by freeing Aleks and then disappears. However, fate intervenes when Aleks is abducted again and Vaughn rescues him. Despite Aleks' hopes that Vaughn will take him home, Vaughn betrays him with the words, "I'm sorry, Aleks, I can't do that." The story delves into their complex connection and Aleks' battle to find normalcy amidst recurring nightmares and dreams of Vaughn.
I loved this story with Aleks struggling to adapt to normal life and tortured Vaughn who needed help from Aleks even though he knew what he was doing was wrong. Lots of passion and emotions in this story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
