Kane Diaz, imprisoned at sixteen for assaulting his abusive father, is released seventeen years later and offered a job by Diesel Rawlings, head of Rawlings Security. Danny Sullivan, a medic with PTSD, is reluctant to babysit Kane, an ex-con. However, Danny discovers that Kane's troubled past hides deeper scars. As enhanced teenagers begin to disappear, Kane must face his demons by returning to prison to save others. Danny must decide whether to join Kane undercover and risk his life or stay in the shadows and risk his heart as their growing feelings complicate their mission.
I loved this story with the two men who were damaged in their own way but found a home and comfort in each other. I loved all of the details of their traumas and that Danny's support dog picked up distress in them both. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
