Dante Thorne, burdened by guilt from a past tragedy, lives a reckless life to forget his failures. At twenty-six, he meets Magnus DuCane, a forty-one-year-old Texas Ranger mourning his daughter's loss and adjusting to life with his recently returned grandson. Despite their differences and Magnus' initial discomfort with Dante's attitude and brashness, the two men grow closer when Dante becomes Magnus' bodyguard for a high-profile case. As Magnus begins to see beyond Dante's exterior, their unexpected feelings for each other challenge their preconceived notions, and Magnus realizes that Dante might be exactly what he needs to start a new chapter in his life.
I enjoyed this story with the two men who found themselves by being together and communicating about their pasts, thoughts and feelings. I loved Dante and his way of coping. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
