My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Con, a successful fighter haunted by his past, is burdened by guilt over a fight that saved his brother’s life but left his opponent broken and his opponent’s young brother, Micah, devastated. Fifteen years later, Con is determined to help Micah, now a bitter and struggling man, escape the pain he inadvertently caused. However, Micah resents Con, blaming him for the hardships he and his family endured. As Con tries to make amends, Micah wrestles with his anger and the unexpected emotions Con stirs in him. Their shared pain and complicated history create a tense yet undeniable connection, forcing both men to confront their pasts and the possibility of forgiveness and healing.
I loved this story with the drama from the past and the consequences of those actions on all of them. After the resentment had worn off came the explosive passion between the two men as well as the protective nature that Con had grown into as he and his brothers worked together. Plenty of tender and emotional moments in this story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
