Review: Forgotten: Luca by Sloane Kennedy 4 of 5 stars

Forgotten: Luca

Forgotten: Luca by Sloane Kennedy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Eight years ago, Luca Covello had to leave a terrified fourteen-year-old boy, known as Billy, behind to save someone else. Now, the boy, whose real name is Remy, is no longer a frightened kid but a tormented young man who remembers Luca well. Luca feels compelled to make things right but fears he might not be able to walk away from Remy again. Remy, who once found hope in Luca, now fights to move on with his life, having been abandoned by Luca and left to suffer. Eight years later, Luca returns, wanting to save Remy, but Remy, now sober and stable, doesn't need saving. As Luca seeks forgiveness, Remy is determined to ensure that Luca will never forget him again. Their reunion forces them both to confront their pasts and the complex emotions that have shaped their lives.

I loved this story with the two men who were reconnected after a number of years and had to work through their emotions and feelings after the consequences of that meeting. I felt the passion between them and their complex thoughts about the past and present situation. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
