Review: Lion's Crossing by Jessica E. Subject 3 of 5 stars

Lion's Crossing

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A small-town omega, defying their parents' warnings, ventures to the big city of Saramto for a long-awaited vacation. Hoping to explore museums and enjoy new experiences, his plans go awry when a train breakdown leaves him stranded. Things take another turn when a well-known alpha steps in to help him through a chaotic first night in the city. While grateful, he can’t help but wonder if this alpha’s kindness might come with a price he's not ready to pay.

This was a sweet story of how the two men met on a train journey that turned into a nightmare which then led to something much more. The story was a bit confusing in places and I wanted to shake them both at times. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ryan Davis escapes a fifteen-year nightmare of abduction and abuse, but freedom brings its own challenges as he struggles to rebuild his life. He crosses paths with Jacob Wright, a man whose life was altered by an accident that took his mobility and former joy. When Ryan, scared and near death, appears on Jacob's secluded beach, Jacob becomes his caregiver, and a fragile trust forms between them. As they navigate their pain and forge an unexpected bond, they begin to uncover new possibilities for healing and connection—despite the shadows of their haunting pasts.

I loved this story of the two damaged men who were able to function in life with each others help first as friends which changed over time to something more. There were a lot of deep feelings and emotions which were perfectly told by the author. This book will make you smile and cry (sometimes at the same time). This was an MM story with mature content.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Quin Hunter, an art forger and gallery owner who prefers a quiet life, is drawn into a high-stakes heist by a call from his twin. Alongside his brothers, Quin must steal a painting from a dangerous figure who never should have possessed it. Meanwhile, Dimitri Crysanthos, trapped under the control of a ruthless man in Amsterdam to protect his sister, longs for freedom. When Quin enters his life, Dimitri’s desire for liberty grows, even as it puts both him and his sister at greater risk. As the stakes shift, Quin and the ORCA team are not just fighting to retrieve the painting but also to rescue Dimitri and his sister from danger. This intertwines themes of love, loyalty, and daring, as Quin finds himself not only on a mission to complete the heist but also to save his fated mate, Dimitri.

I enjoyed this story as the mystery of the painting and the mystery of Dimitry and his talent. Quin also got the bonus of finding his fated mate and so that was great for the story and its development. I loved the jeopardy of the danger to them both and the way they were able to escape. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Silent Is the Heart by Dianna Roman 4 of 5 stars

Silent Is the Heart

Silent Is the Heart by Dianna Roman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The story follows Easton Bennick, a man who lost everything—his childhood, voice, and a loved one - on a devastating night. Now a reserved adult with deep scars, Easton resides at Hampton Hills Rehabilitation Center. Aaron Manicki, a former speech pathologist at Hampton Hills, returns years later searching for purpose and reconnects with Easton, who has grown into a guarded and complex man. Aaron’s efforts to help Easton regain his voice evolve into a mutual journey of healing and self-discovery. Their intertwined paths explore themes of second chances, emotional vulnerability, and redemption. As Aaron attempts to break through Easton’s barriers, he must also confront his own struggles and question if he’s prepared to truly listen to what Easton’s heart has to say.

This was a story full of emotions and feelings as Easton struggled with a lot of pain and devastation in his life which had changed irrevocably and Aaron who tried to help Easton but then had his own difficulties after moving away from the area. Plenty of drama and action in this story which had a great HEA at the end. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Finn

Finn by Ashley James
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Finn while working on his family's cattle ranch hires Ash Tudor, his girlfriend's twin brother, as his son's nanny after his regular nanny quits. Ash is cheerful, bubbly, and does yoga in tight shorts, which catches the Finn's attention. Despite never being attracted to another man before, he finds himself drawn to Ash. As feelings and urges grow, he struggles with confusion and curiosity but knows that falling for his son's nanny would be reckless and irresponsible, no matter how tempting it may be.

I loved this story with the two men who didn't intend to fall in love but just couldn't help it. I loved Finn's son Tucker and loved what he wanted to call Ash. A lot of feelings and emotions in this story especially between Ash and his twin sister as well as Finn as he handled his new bisexuality. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Happy Krampus Xmas & The Meet Not Cute: Two Xmas Novellas by Paulina Ian-Kane 4 of 5 stars

Happy Krampus Xmas & The Meet Not Cute: Two Xmas Novellas

Happy Krampus Xmas & The Meet Not Cute: Two Xmas Novellas by Paulina Ian-Kane
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Two Xmas Novellas in the Angels of Wrath series

Happy Krampus Xmas: The protagonist is cursed by Krampus, Santa's evil brother, and must follow a three-step groveling plan to appease him. The chaotic journey involves a cussing Santa, a house on fire, accidental deaths, groping spiders, a possessed hen, and bloody furry shorts, making for a less-than-fun holiday season.

The Meet Not Cute: The protagonist's life changes when they fall on the lap of TJ, a massive football jock with puppy eyes. Despite having nothing in common, they explore TJ's newfound bisexuality. As feelings develop, the protagonist's self-preservation instincts kick in, but TJ's imposing presence makes it hard to leave.

Both of these novellas were suitably crazy and fit into the Angels of Wrath series well. I loved the Gabe/Bez combination with the crazy Lori and how the whole family supported him with his battle with Krampus. I also enjoyed all of the feelings in the second novella. Easy to read, feel and understand. These were MM stories with mature content.

Five

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lori Boone, unapologetically himself and often underestimated, works at a prestigious law firm under Gabriel Reed, his best friend's brother-in-law. Despite Lori's attempts to get under Gabriel's skin, Gabriel barely acknowledges him. Everything changes when Lori, after stalking Gabriel, ends up drugged and in need of rescue, only to be saved by Gabriel. As Lori deals with his tendency toward sexsomnia and Gabriel's multiplicity, their worlds ignite. Lori, who never thought he could settle for one man, wonders if two men sharing one body might be exactly what he needs.

I loved this story with Gabe/Bez and Lori who made up the most crazy dynamic which worked perfectly together. The passion was hot and their kinks fit perfectly together. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Three

Three by Paulina Ian-Kane
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Hunter Penn, a P.I., has his life changed by a hellish moment and a painful decision. Years later, he encounters a long-bearded, red-headed man in an alley, leading to a brief and bloody encounter. Curiosity brings them together again, and despite Hunter's distrust, he recognizes the man's skills and needs his help to find out who is trying to kill him. The man, who calls Hunter by various nicknames, flirts incessantly and drives Hunter mad until Hunter forces him to his knees, discovering a new side to him. Hunter realizes the man is his, regardless of their broken pasts and dangerous lives. The only thing that matters to Hunter is being near him, protecting him, and showing him who he belongs to.

I really wanted to love this book but found their sexual relationship distracted me from the story with the constant fem-kink. The side characters made this story as they had the more interesting dialogue. Easy to feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Their Little House Colter by Kaytea Kat Della Cain 3 of 5 stars

Their Little House Colter (Five Little Roommates Book 1)

Their Little House Colter by Kaytea Kat Della Cain
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Colter feels out of place with their vanilla roommate and dreams of finding a space where he can be himself. He discovers an opportunity to live in a large house with like-minded individuals through a community board at Chained. Despite fears of it being a scam or encountering a controlling "Faux Daddy," they take the risk and move in. He is drawn to Dallas, another resident, and wonders if anything can come of their connection. A daddy figure who catches both their eyes believes there is potential for something more.

This was a sweet story based in a house only containing littles. I loved the backgrounds of the three men and that they were respectful of each other and took things slowly although the ending was a little sudden. Easy to read and understand. This was an MMM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.
