Dr. Vampyre Dr. Vampyre by S.N. McKibben
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dr John Tennison is a professor and a renowned doctor who also has Lupus. In order to manage his condition he does several things - he has a manservant called Mitch who helps him with pretty much everything, he measures his day in what he calls spoons to use what energy he has carefully, he leads a somewhere OCD existence in order to wring as many of these spoons as he can out of life, and once a week he goes to Sanguine Loon’s to indulge in his dirty little secret - he has a thimbleful of blood to help give him badly needed energy/spoons.

John's life and plans are thrown into complete chaos when a new student (Ylati Badashi) arrives late for his first lesson of the term. Even worse she is a Vogue model and then tries to blackmail him when he refuses to teach her because she was late.

A charming story about how John fights his attraction to Ylati and tries to keep within his ordered life without pushing his spoon limits. Not really a vampire story as he just drinks a little blood out of a cup, but nevertheless a really nice story, well written with lots of detail on personalities and emotions. Contains some sexual scenes.
