Beat by Amity Cross
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Renee "Ren" Miller was five when her Dad left and never returned. She was left to care for her mother on her own (her mother had cancer and went through a lot of treatments and battles). Her mother has since died and she is all alone. However her mother told her to find her Dad as her last words.
Now twenty-two, Ren reluctantly goes to find her father. He owns the down and out boxing studio, Beat, and Ren decides to live there. Surrounded by boxing she decides to train herself in the evenings and joining the basic classes as a way of taking control of her life.
Then one day, Ash Fuller, how once was her Dad's star fighter appears - he is gorgeous and she feels instantly attracted to him even though he is a bad boy and could lead her down a dark path.
I loved this book - it had very real feelings and emotions and how different people could handle them
